- Course DescriptionThis course presents a comprehensive exposition of the theory of nonlinear dynamical systems. This course particularly focuses on methods of characterizing and understanding the behavior of systems that can be described by nonlinear ordinary differential equations, and methods for designing controllers for such systems. In the introduction part, we will discuss nonlinear models and nonlinear phenomena. For analyzing the system stability, we will study Lyapunov stability, Lyapunov function, equilibrium point, input-output stability, and passivity concept. In the design part, we will focus on the adaptive control, which estimates unknown parameters online, feedback control, and feedback linearization method.
